What Is Dota 2?
For most fans of Dota 2 it is more than a videogame. It is emotions, constant self-improving, and of course Esports!
121 heroes, 136 in-game items, 3 lanes and countless amount of their combinations- all of that is Defense Of The Ancient (DOTA).
Dota 2 is very complicated, and for most people, it will be hard to learn how to start, but when people understand all the benefits and mechanics of Dota 2, they will never stop playing it!
RULES
2 teams with 5 players, each need to destroy the enemy base and the main object, which maned "Ancient" and defend own ancient from the opponent's team.
In each team, there are 5 different roles with 5 different gameplays. Usually, the team with better heroes and team play wins.
HOW TO PLAY DOTA 2?
The road to the enemy base is not that easy as it may seem. There are 3 lanes in Dota 2 – Top Lane, Middle Lane, and Bottom Lane. These lanes are like small battlefields with a neutral territory between them.
During the first 15 minutes, which are called "Laning," teams separate into three small groups - 2, 1, 2 and try to get maximum profit (gold) from the lane stage and don't let to do the same for the opponents.
Then starts the "Middle Game" (15 min-30 min) when players rotate between all Lanes trying to push the enemies' objectives before the enemies' base.
Last but not least, the "Late Game" begins – only one fight between the teams left till the end of the game, and the only thing that players want to do is destroy the enemies Ancient.
WHAT ROLES ARE THERE IN DOTA?
There are 5 roles in Dota 2 with different gameplay and heroes to play in each role.
CORE POSITIONS
Carry (Position 1)- this role is about concentrating and planning. Carry's primary mission is to win the Late Game and have more power than the enemy Carry. Usually, they are fragile at the beginning, but they become the strongest ones in the end.
Mid (Position 2)- Guys that depend only on themselves. They usually play solo lane and gain maximum gold and experience initially (first 15 minutes) to let their Carry farm as much as they need.
Usually, heroes for Mid Lane are mighty at the Mid. Game – they have a lot of fixed damage to kill the enemy team. Still, with time this damage becomes less valuable (enemy heroes became tankier).
Offlane (Position 3) – initiators and tanks have the most active gameplay in Dota 2. Almost every fight depends on the Offlaners initiation. In the beginning, their main task is to be annoying to the enemy Carry and don't let him farm too much. After the Laning Offlaners usually look for someone to kill with their Mid player. When Late Game starts, Offlaners need to be very attentive to initiate perfectle and give their team a considerable advantage in Late Game fights.
SUPPORT POSITIONS
Soft Support (Position 4) – "tempo makers" of the game from the first seconds. They rotate between lanes and trying to get more info.
This role is the hardest one. At the Laning, nothing is challenging to kill few times or help your teammates, but when Middle Game starts – Soft Supports become the easiest targets to kill for the enemies.
Hard Support (Position 5) - This role is called "Babysitter." Their main mission is to secure their Carry at the Laning Stage and heal and secure their teammates in the Middle Game and Late Game. Position 5 heroes are usually don't need much gold. They can be helpful even without any items. This role usually is for team Capitan because they have a little more time to analyze all the information and give their team a plan for the game.
