MATIC Migrates to POL

MATIC is becoming POL! The native token of the Polygon network will migrate, and our maintenance will be held on September 3. What does it mean? How to transfer your MATIC assets to POL?

What are Polygon & MATIC?

Polygon is a sidechain based on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. It was introduced to improve all internal processes. Initially, the Polygon project was called Matic Network, so the native token received a similar name. As an infrastructure token, MATIC is used to pay network fees and reward holders who stake assets on validator nodes.

About the MATIC ➤ POL Migration

After the upgrade, POL will replace MATIC and become the primary token for paying for gas and staking. The new currency will retain the existing tokenomics and the total supply of MATIC. POL will immediately benefit the Polygon Proof-of-Stake network, expanding its capabilities.

Our team will begin maintenance on September 3. All deposits, withdrawals, and other actions with MATIC will be unavailable. The token won’t be displayed on the platform, but don't worry.
